Billy Blackman is a professional surfer and kitesurfer known all over the world. Born and raised in South Florida, Billy started surfing at the tender age of 12 competing in competitions and traveling the world looking for waves. Over the years his love of the water grew into an obsession and surfing became a way of life. Being a successful business man as well Billy started his own company Able Tree Service and was able to perfectly balance his lifestyle between work and play. His love of Nature and trees rides right up there with his love of the ocean.While Surfing on the Northshore of Hawaii in 1999 Billy saw a guy kitesurfing, he was hooked automatically. He found a place in Maui that sold kite equipment and bought his first kite. He was well on his way to being one of the first kite surfers in South Florida and revolutionizing the kite bar industry with his version of the pulley bar. Now there is a choice in bars.
Billy is stoked to be involved in kitesurfing since the beginning and his 18 year old son is right on his heals in the sport. "May we all be safe and live as one family as the sport comes of age".
